FOR THE KIDS
- Incline Skate Park: located 2 blocks away (corner of Southwood and Hwy 28), the skate park has a variety of levels of bowls, rails, stairs and ramps for all levels of skateboarding.
- Incline Village Recreation Center: the Rec Center offers a variety of activities for kids, including ping-pong, pool (with floating “Lobster” on weekends for small kids), a diving board, pool basketball, and more. See the Rec Center web site for more details or call the Rec Center at 775-832-1300.
- Incline Village Bike Path: the bike path along Lakeshore Blvd. is a nice place for a walk or leisurely bike ride with the kids. Another network of bike paths is at Tahoe City (the stretch north from Tahoe City along the Truckee River is especially scenic).
- Bowl Incline: Incline Village’s bowling alley is just a block away from the condo. Turn left on Incline Way, and you’ll see it on your left just after the stop sign at Southwood Blvd. Tel. 775-831-1900.
- Miniature Golf: There are two mini golf courses within driving distance of Incline. The closest is in Kings Beach (about a 10 minute drive away -- you’ll see it on the right side of the road as you drive into town) – it’s an old classic mini golf course in a very shaded area. The second alternative is Magic Carpet Mini Golf in Carnelian Bay (about 20 minutes by car) – it’s a modern fun course in an open sunny area.
- Beaches: see our Beaches Favorites section for lots of different beach options.
- Rafting the Truckee River: one-way raft rentals are available at the Y in downtown Tahoe City. Kids absolutely love it! See “Kayaking and Rafting”.
- Hiking: see our Hiking Favorites for ideas. Bonnie’s Cove and Eagle Falls are two short hikes that are easy hikes with young kids.
- Martis Peak Fire Lookout: during the summer, you can drive to this high altitude lookout– see “Drives”.
- Young Shakespeare: the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival offers several free performances at Sand Harbor and other locations during the summer. http://www.laketahoeshakespeare.com/education/young_shakespeare.
